The following are sermon notes that I have used to preach this sermon on the fall into Egypt. The best way that you could ever learn about the Bible is to become a DOER of the Word. That means taking the gospel to the nations. My prayer is that you will find these notes helpful in your studies of the Bible.
Take the foundation scripture(s). Think on them. Let them sink into your heart and only after you have done this can you truly get revelation – the bread of life – from the Bible.
These notes were first preached in this post here.
Sermon Notes
Foundation Scriptures: Exodus 1:8 KJV
- Adam was the god (ruler) of this earth.
- Genesis 1:26 – “let them have dominion”
- And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
- Genesis 1:26 – “let them have dominion”
- Satan was jealous of Adam’s authority. He desired to rule the earth.
- Isaiah 14:12-14 KJV
- 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
- Isaiah 14:12-14 KJV
- Satan stole Adam’s authority in the earth and became its ruler after Adam’s fall.
- Genesis 3:5 – “ye shall be as gods”
- Lifted up in the same spirit of pride.
- 1 Timothy 2:14 – “And Adam was not deceived”
- Adam ate the apple with the motivation of pride and rebellion (same as the devil).
- He committed high treason against God by choosing to follow the devil.
- Genesis 3:5 – “ye shall be as gods”
- Thus the whole earth fell into bondage from sin – Egypt or “The Fall”.
