We’ve been talking about the Promised Land. Christians have a place in this life where they are free from the burden of sin, have entered into rest, and commune with God. Very few people actually arrive there, why? Because it takes work!
To enter into the promised land in this life you have to walk by faith and not by sight. You have to fight the fight of faith and leave fighting the Devil to Jesus (who did a completely amazing job of already kicking his butt).
Our Verse
2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2 Corinthians 10:2-3 KJV
Walk in the Flesh, but not AFTER the Flesh
Paul here tells us that people who aren’t kingdom minded won’t understand this. “…some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh”. Paul wasn’t talking about the heathen – Christless – people. He was talking about believers.
The some in this verse might be some of you. The problem is that we have to decide to be spirit conscious and not flesh conscious.
When you were a heathen, the only thing you knew was the flesh, but now that you are a Christian it’s time to start paying attention to what your spirit is saying.
What Paul is saying here is that not everyone is doing that, but that his focus isn’t on walking according to the flesh but instead it’s walking in the flesh.
We have to walk in the flesh otherwise we have no earth suit to live on this earth. We DON’T have to walk according to the flesh which causes us to fulfill its lusts and desires.
