Faith Laws to Live By

by | Mar 17, 2023 | Blog, Faith, Fresh Bread Devotionals

Today we are discussing some faith laws that we should live by.  These are things that are extremely important to know if we are going to live this life pleasing to God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV

So without further delay, let’s get into some of these faith laws.

FAITH LAW #1: Faith is what pleases God

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV

I just briefly touched on this point above.  Jesus wants you to enter His presence in FAITH knowing that He is the same as He has always been and will reward those who diligently seek Him.

The reason why faith is so important to God is because it literally determines everything about the way we live.

  • Our Salvation from Sin
  • Our Health and Healing
  • Our Job
  • Our Relationships with Others
  • Our Worship

There are so many things that faith affects that we really cannot create a comprehensive list – although we are going to try in the future.

FAITH LAW #2: Faith comes by hearing

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17 KJV

The fact that faith comes by hearing is a LAW that operates in the spirit realm both in the positive and negative sense.

What I mean is that regardless of the type of words you speak, you will have faith in them if you hear them for long periods of time. If you hear negative words, you’ll start to believe them.  If you hear positive things, you’ll start to agree with them too.  This is why it’s so important to fill ourselves with the Word of God and guard our hearts.

See The Human Spirit MUST be Guarded Diligently

When your bucket gets bumped, what you’re full of will come splashing out.  If you run into an issue in life and you’re cussing everyone out and yelling at them, you haven’t been filling your bucket with the right kind of things recently.

That doesn’t mean you’re going to hell, but it does mean that you probably don’t have what it takes inside of you to overcome the challenge before you.

When you run into an obstacle in your life, that is not the time to start a crash course on that topic. That means we should have a disciplined life of Word of God study time all the time.

FAITH LAW #3: Faith is NOW

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 KJV

You can’t rely on yesterday’s faith to be successful.  You will believe whatever you’ve been hearing TODAY.  That means if you listen and hear the Word on Sunday, but fill yourself with everything else Monday through Saturday, you won’t operate in the God kind of faith very well.

FAITH LAW #4: Faith is stored in the heart

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:10 KJV

“With the heart man believes.”  This is key because it shows why it’s so important to guard your heart and keep the negativity out and the positivity in your heart.  If you are listening to gloom and doom then that’s what is stored in your heart.

FAITH LAW #5: Faith takes time

When we talk about faith it’s important to recognize that there is a law that operates in conjunction with faith called The Law of “Seed, Time and Harvest”.

Seed, Time and Harvest Explained Simply

Think about the way you plant crops.  For some of us the only experience we might have had with farming is in 2nd grade when we grow the bean sprout in the little styrofoam cup, but the concept still holds.

It takes time to water that seed and let it grow before it can be harvested.  Sometimes the bigger the crop, the more time it will take to grow.

The same is true with what we fill our hearts with.  When we fill our hearts with negative things, we may not always see the negative results immediately, but do that enough…you’ll end up on the wrong side of faith feeling doubt, unbelief and fear in everything you’re doing.

Your harvest will have come by your planting, watering and giving it time to grow in you.

Wrapping Up

The important thing to remember with a post like this is that this is a non-exclusive list of faith laws and principles.  There is a lot to know about this concept of faith, but the very first thing we need to do is just get the basics down.  These laws are the very basics of faith that we can live by daily.
